Stream WQXR for soft background music when entertaining. Classical music adds a calming ambience to a dinner party, without any distracting awareness.
Practice good habits daily. 95% of good health comes down to healthy basics: sensible diet, exercise, sleep, laughter, faith and purpose, common sense, a strong identity, and a good attitude.
Be authentic, unless you are running for office. It requires a lot less energy, and makes you unique. Even “flaws” are assets. I marvel at any successful person without OCD.
A professor once advised her students to turn to laughter rather than alcohol to deal with the stress of med school. Exercise is another means of dealing with stress while problem solving. These distractions while the brain is still intact is a winning combo, as the answer often lies outside the box.
Replace anger and hatred with love and gratitude. We live in a world of gifts and miracles which we did not earn, but inherited from generations past.
Don’t be in a rush to get to the wrong place. Life is a series of choices. The more choices we make with careful consideration and purpose, the more life’s successes have a domino effect.
